The City of Kenora is cautioning the public about getting to excited by it’s surplus numbers.
Director of Finance Ryan Marsh says estimates show the city is on track to record a $1.1 million surplus for 2023.
He says that’s in part because of interest earnings of $96,000, a $563,000 surplus in the recycling department and $403,000 from increased volume in their solid waste department.
The city says these numbers aren’t final yet, and there are still more bills to come in, that may lower the surplus.
