The Shoal Lake #40 First Nation is getting funding from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund to help build a business center.
Over $490,000 has been promised for the 2,000 square foot, wheelchair accessible building.
The chief of the community Kevin Redsky says the business center will prevent economic leakage from the community.
It will provide a much-needed base for people without access to a vehicle and attract community members that would otherwise have to relocate.
