Another busy weekend in Kenora.

There are two one-day music festivals and a sporting event.

Lucien Stratton with Lakeside Live says they will be presenting their second Electronic Dance Music Festival on Saturday under the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion.

“This year, our production levels are just going to be insane,” enthuses Stratton.

“It’s going to be like you’re in a festival in Europe or Australia.  We’re going to have lights and flames.  It’s going to be a good time for sure.”

Other events include the Tops and Bottoms rowing regatta on Rabbit Lake.

Jennifer Findlay from the Kenora Rowing Club says racing will take place all day on Saturday.

“July 27th is a one-day race.  The races will take place all day long from about 7:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon.  We always love people cheering from the stands, and that is free.”

Also, this weekend, the Coney Island “Maybe” annual Music Festival will take place on Sunday.

Helena Devins is one of the organizers and says despite the name, the event is still going strong.

“We’re very excited that 16 years later it’s still an annual event.  We’ve got a good line-up for you, so it’s exciting to have people come out, enjoy a day at the beach and some live music.”

The Coney Island “Maybe” annual Music Festival will run from 11:30 and will run until around 6:30.

There will be a free shuttle to take people out to Coney Island from the Kenora Harbourfront.
