Norman Dam June 2022 (Adam Riley / Acadia Broadcasting)
Water levels on Lake of the Woods are starting to come down.
The lake is still quite high for this time of the year, but it did drop about 6 centimeters in this past week.
The Lake of the Woods Control Board says if there is not too much rain over the next couple of days, water levels are expected to drop another 3 to 6 centimeters over the next seven days.
As a result of the reduction in lake levels, the Control Board is authorizing it’s first decrease in the Norman Dam in months.
It will take place on Thursday.
Water levels on the Winnipeg River below the dam will go down about 22 centimeters, 17 centimeters at the Dalles and 14 centimeters at Minaki.
