The summer isn’t quite over yet in terms of special events.
This weekend there are several more.
Kenora is hosting the Northwest International Rowing Regatta on Rabbit Lake.
Jennifer Findlay from the Kenora Rowing Club says the racing begins this morning and wraps up Saturday afternoon.
“We have over 350 athletes from all over the US Midwest and as well as central Canada coming out to that race,” says Findlay.
Findlay adds that they still need volunteers to help at the starting line to hold boats at the starting line, and to drive motorboats to shuttle the judges.
“We need about 100 volunteers for each day. We always get a great response from the community, and volunteering is also a great way to see the regatta and racing up close. You can watch from on the water.”
Also, this weekend, the last Main Street Market of the summer will take place from 10 until 3 on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, north of Kenora, Redditt Day will be taking place from 9 until about 5.
On Sunday, the 6th annual Sam Bush Memorial Skateboard competition is taking place at the skate park at the Moncrief Construction Sports center.
The is a barbeque at noon followed by the skateboard competition starting at 1:00.
