The Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation has received a big shot in the arm for its Beyond the Scan campaign launched last week.
The Kenora Kinsmen club is committing $150,000 over four years to bring an MRI to the hospital and purchase a new CAT scan unit.
Towards that goal, the Kinsmen presented a cheque for $50,000 to the hospital foundation last month, to kickstart their contribution.
The Kinsmen has 18 members locally and contributed more than $260,800 over the past three decades.
Most recently, the club donated $24,700 to support the purchase of a new bladder scanner for the Emergency Department, as well as four new Novum IQ Infusion pumps.
The service group says it will use proceeds from its Father’s Day cash draw, Christmas Tree sales and the sale of lobster on the May long week, to help fundraise.
