Work to repave portions of Lakeview Drive won’t take place now until 2026.
Director of Engineering and Infrastructure Greg Breen says they got and almost $6 million grant from the province to support the work, but they won’t be ready to start this year.
“With the success of the application, the project has expanded, and we’ll be doing more paving work that what was in the budget,” Breen told Kenora city council recently.
“In order to accommodate time for the design of the complete project, it needs to shift into 2026. So, what that means for 2025, there will be the perception that we’re doing less paving work or less resurfacing work than we’d normally be doing.”
Breen had suggested doing some paving work this year that had been scheduled for 2026, but council voted against the idea.
