Tourism Kenora is bringing back a popular winter culinary campaign.

It’s called Frost Bites and features a number of local restaurants.

Josh Nelson is the city’s Tourism Development Officer and says it gives local eateries a chance to try something new.

“Basically, we’ve asked each participating restaurant, to come up with a new, innovative idea that kind of fits within that theme,” explains Nelson.

“So, a different style of burger that you wouldn’t normally see on their menu.”

Nelson adds that Frost Bites is a way to showcase local eateries.

“Our goal is to help support the restaurants with something new and inventive and try to get the locals, as well as visitors, out to eat at these local restaurants.”

Nelson says the restaurants also have a passport, so patrons can collect a stamp from each one they go to and be eligible for prizes at the end of the month.

Frost Bites begins on Sunday and starts off with Burger week.

That will be followed by poutine week, taco week and pasta week.
