
The Grassy Narrows First Nation is holding a rally in Kenora this afternon.
It’s to demand an end to ongoing threats of industrial pollution.
That includes pulp mill effulent, mining and a proposal for a nuclear waste storage facility.
The band says pollutants continue to prolong and compound the harm to Grassy Narrows.
The rally will take place at McLeod Park from 3 till 5 pm this afternoon.
The gathering is a day before World Water Day, which a United Nations observance held this year, on Saturday, March 22nd, that highlights the importance of fresh water.
