Another organization in the region is going to a four-day work week.
Grand Council Treaty #3 says as of the end of this month, employees will be able to select one of two work schedules.
Treaty Three says their offices will still be open five days a week, but employees will be offered a flex day off.
The new schedule has been approved by the Board of Directors and the Director of Human Resources says it will improve the work/life balance, reduce stress and improve job satisfaction.
Lee-Anne Moore is the Human Resource Manager and believes the new initiative will be beneficial.
“Our goal is to create a workplace where our staff feel valued and supported, and this initiative is a major step towards achieving that.’
Interim Executive Director Derrick Henderson adds, ‘The Board of Directors and I are fully committed to supporting this initiative. We understand the importance of fostering a positive work environment and are confident that the 4-day work week will benefit both our employees and the organization as a whole.’
The new four-day work schedules are being tried out on a one-year pilot.
