Dryden secures several meetings at AMO

Dryden city council has a long list of issues it wants to bring to the province’s attention.

Chief Administrative Officer of the city Roger Nesbitt says they have requested a number of meetings with cabinet ministers when they attend the Association of Municipalities on Ontario convention next week in Ottawa.

“This conference we’ve requested a significant number of ministry delegations,” Nesbitt told Dryden council recently.

“Actually, we’ve requested 17 different topics across 10 different ministries.  That may be a record for Dryden, or least a recent record anyhow.”

Nesbitt adds that some of the issues need attention from several different ministries.

“The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the Ministry of Infrastructure asked for delegations to talk about our growing infrastructure deficit and the need for adequate and stable, ongoing funding for infrastructure projects in our community.”

Nesbitt says right now, they have seven meetings confirmed for the AMO conference next week.
