“Golf is the only game I know of that actually gets harder the longer you play it.” Bobby Jones.

Another beautiful and warm day with a slight breeze out of the south. 59 members and 5 guests did their best. This week’s scramble was on the back nine leaving the front nine for golfers to record their stroke play scores. It is fair to say that the front nine is the more difficult nine on the golf course. Not only is it longer, but it also has two forced water carries on number three and number seven. There’s no way around the water unless you can figure out how to hit a shot down the cart path. Which, by the way, I have seen someone do on number three. To be clear, it wasn’t intentional, but it sure was a good laugh to watch the ball bounce between the railing and bridge decking and successfully arrive at the other side. It’s fair to call this a bad shot that turned out well!

OK, folks, I made a mistake. Again. This time I have misspelled a league members name.  Actually, I have done it more than once. My apologies to you, Doug Gan.

In further exciting news some of the great minds of the BB senior men’s league got together and made some decisive decisions.…

-For all of our league play the highest score you can record on any hole is a nine. There. That’s it. Done.

-During our championship rounds, September 3 and 10th, you’re expected to count every stroke. During these rounds, there will be no gimmies.

This from Dennis O’Sullivan:

A golfer teed up his ball on the first tee, took a mighty swing and hit his ball into a clump of trees.
He found his ball and saw an opening between 2 trees he thought he could hit through.
Taking out his 3-wood, he took a mighty swing.
The ball hit a tree, bounced back, hit him in the forehead and killed him.
As he approached the gates of Heaven, St. Peter asked, “Are you a good golfer?”
The man replied: “Got here in two, didn’t I?
