Outflows from Lake of the Woods into the Winnipeg River are slowly being decreased.
In fact, there are four more decreases from the dam planned for the next week.
Lake of the Woods Control Board says the first is taking place today, followed by others on Monday, Wednesday and next Friday.
As a result of the drop in outflows, water levels on the Winnipeg River are expected to go down another 43 centimeters by next week below the dam, 27 centimeters at the Dalles and 13 centimeters at Minaki.
Overall, the lake went down 8 centimeters in the past week, and is expected to drop another 2 to 5 centimeters in the next seven days.
The control board says the drainage basin has received almost no rain in the last week and only moderate amounts are expect this coming week.
