Alwyn Cowley and Elizabeth Redsky sadly announce Gia Zoe Cowley-Redsky has begun her final journey to the Spirit World.

Gia is survived by her Father Alwyn Cowley (Whitney) and her Mother Elizabeth Redsky her Sister’s Nicole Kejick, Aliiyah Cowley-Redsky, Ariana and Raven Nash, Cheryl Cowley and Alwyn Cowley (Junior) and nieces Alison McLeod-Redsky, Tessa Kejick, Morgan Kejick, Jaiden Kejick-Redsky and Cailey Joe Kejick-Redsky.

She is predeceased by her sister Melissa Kejick, brother Christopher Kejick-Redsky, Shoomis Stanley Strong and kookum Annabelle Cowley-Strong and Grandmother Finola Fogarty and Uncle Terrance Cowley.

Gia grew up in the communities of Iskatewizaagegan No. 39 IFN, Naotkamegwanning and Animakii Wa-Zhing #37 First Nations and Kenora where she had made a lot friends and attended school. She loved playing sports volleyball and attended tournaments with the Winterhawks Team. She loved nature and the outdoor hunting hikes with her father and sister. She loved animals especially Tippy and Dusty her pet cats.

When she wasn’t outdoors Gia would be drawing, coloring and later on using online applications and creating computer animation drawings. She was very talented in computer animation which she taught herself. While she grew up in communities of Iskatewizaagegan No. 39, Naotkamegwanning and Animakii Wa-Zhing #37 she learned, loved and respected the Indigenous Culture and her roots. She loved her whole family tremendously and she will be missed very much.

A visitation will be held Friday, August 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. A wake service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 3:30 pm at David Kejick School Gymnasium, Iskatewizaagegan No. 39 IFN. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 10:00 am at David Kejick School Gymnasium, Iskatewizaagegan No. 39 IFN, Ontario with cremation to follow.
