Another big donation for the Beyond the Scan Campaign at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
Bryce and Nicki Douglas have announced they are gifting $500,000 towards the $8.5 million campaign.
“This community has been part of our family for generations,” said Bryce Douglas.
“Supporting the hospital and helping improve access to vital health care services is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back. We are proud to be part of a project that will benefit so many people and leave a legacy in the place we love.”
As a result of the donation, one area of the new diagnostic imaging department will be named the Douglas Family Mammography Suite.
The newly renovated Mammography Suite features the state-of-the-art Siemens Mammography B Brilliant unit, which the hospital says is the most advanced mammography technology on the market.
Now fully operational, the unit performed its first patient imaging on Friday, November 22nd, 2024.
The campaign not only is raising money for an MRI, but also a new CAT scan unit.
As of last week, 91 percent of the fundraising target for the Beyond the Scan campaign had already been met.
