The Ontario Special Investigations Unit has been called in after a woman went into medical distress at the Kenora OPP Detachment.
The woman was picked up by police on Saturday around 11 am on an outstanding bench warrant.
She was placed under arrest and lodged in a cell at the Kenora Detchment and held for a bail hearing.
Around 2:00 Sunday morning she was transported to hospital.
Anytime a person in custody is in medical distress, injured or dies in police custody, the SIU is called in.
No other details are being released at this time.
