More people are trying to buy Canadian as the U.S. trade war continues.
Since February, the number of people buying Canadian has gone up from 63 to 68 per cent.
According to Narrative Research, more than half of residents find it easy to spot Canada-made goods.
It’s in response to the trade war launched by U.S President Donald Trump.

About 56 per cent are deliberately avoiding U.S. products.
But the biggest jump comes from people cancelling trips to the U.S. From February to April, that number grew from 14 per cent to 22 per cent.
However, by analyzing the results, Narrative Research CEO Margaret Brigley says, there is room for improvement when it comes to labelling products.
About 56 per cent of people felt it was easy to find Canadian products when they specifically looked for them. About 68 per cent of people trusted the labels by the manufacturer or the grower, but a few less, at 60 per cent, trusted the labels provided by grocery stores.
They conducted the survey between April 9 and 12, 2025 and spoke to 1,230 Canadians who were 18 or older.
