The Kenora and Lake of the Woods Community Foundation is seeking more funding from the City of Kenora.
Executive Director Lynn McAughey says they are seeking increased funding from all their main donors.
“The Circle of Giving campaign is from 2025 to 2028 campaign for fundraising and we’re here today to talk about a commitment of $5,000 annually as a partner, a sponsor, and a member of our Circle of Giving campaign for that period of time,” McAughey told Kenora city council recently.
McAughey adds the Circle of Giving is a way to increase their Community Funds.
“The commitment of $5,000 annually is something we’re asking many of our partners and also we’ll be speaking to the Municipality of Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls as well regarding this, and many of our trusted partners. So, individuals, agencies and businesses that have been long term, we’re asking them to commit to this campaign.”
As part of her presentation, McAughey is also asking the city to contribute part of its annual grant towards administration costs.
