Penny Fobister, a resident of Grassy Narrows First Nation passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 in Grassy Narrows First Nation.
Penny is survived by her spouse Tony Hale, daughter Marni, son Jeremy and step son Shad Hale, her sisters Cindy, Alice and Melinda and her brother John Clint.
Penny was predeceased by her grandparents Lucy and Joseph John Kokopenace and Alice and Thomas Fobister, her father Frank F., her brothers Jason F., Barney Kelly, sister Shirley F., uncles Gabe K., Daniel K., Simon K., Steve F., Gabe F., John F., Alex F., Andrew F., aunties Jess H., Sharon F. and Josephine P, as well as her niece Skye S., nephews Hail K., Colten, cousins Bridgette F., Lawrence Barton K., Donny K., Marcia F., Walter H., Raymond H. and Everette B.
Penny will be missed by her aunties Evelyn P., Rita (Fred) Kokopenace, Clara K., Brenda K., Evelyn Pahpasay, uncle Bill Fobister Sr., nieces and nephews Leon F., Jacklyn F., John Jr K., Jesse K., Tamas K., Roseanne K., Della, Mike C., Doug Jr. S., Alexei S., Caradine S., Daniel K., Susanne K., Jordan F., Ben Lim, Nyssa o., Frankie O., Langford King Jr., Percival King, Kimberly and Sarah.
She liked spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed watching her murder mystery movies and shows. She spent her time doing puzzles, making ribbon shirts, having meals out with her kids and playing games with them, taking pictures, “smooching” her esa Bentley, playing candy crush, driving or travelling with her daughter, gardening, taking part in community events such as poker walkathons, costume contests or March break games and shopping. She loved receiving gifts from her children and giving gifts to family and friends, making people laugh, pow wows and trying different outfits on Bentley. She was an animal lover, liked trying new things and making memories, she loved her fur babies and her kids fur babies.
She was loving, caring, supportive, encouraging, positive, outgoing, humorous, she was a “smother’ (inside joke between her and her kids).
A wake service will be held on Monday, May 26, 2025 at Agnes Fisher’s Church in Grassy Narrows First Nation beginning at 11:00am. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Agnes Fisher’s Church in Grassy Narrows First Nation at 10:00am with burial to follow.
