Two more First Nations are being evacuated because of forest fires.

A massive wildfire near the Deer Lake First Nation means the band is planning a complete evacuation of the community.

The forest fire has been mapped at 7,500 hectares.

Meanwhile, the Webequie First Nation has announced a phase one evacuation.

That includes elders, children and residents with medical conditions due to Nipigon#5 which has expanded to cover 1,200 hectares.

About 400 people are being evacuated to Barrie over the next day or so.

Webequie’s leadership declared a State of Emergency yesterday in response to the smoke and shifting wind conditions.
