Noel battling the City of Dryden again

By Tim Davidson Jun 13, 2025 | 3:02 PM

The lawyer representing Dryden city councillor Ritch Noel says banning him from attending council meetings in person is an affront to democracy.

Robert Sinding and councillor Noel met with Dryden council and administration on Monday to get clarity on the ban.

He says he’s been barred from attending council meetings in person, because they say he violated the HR’s harassment policy.

Noel is still allowed to attend council meeting virtually, but he did attend Monday’s open meeting of council in-person.

Sinding says barring his client from attending council meetings in person is unprecedented and illegal.

They are taking the city to court for a judicial review.
