The Stanley Cup Final is all people are chatting about right now! It’s a super tight series and if the Oilers do win, this would mark 32 years since the last time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup.
Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers took place just this past Saturday, and maybe you were tuning in despite your busy weekend with Father’s Day.
A quick recap: the Florida Panthers scored in the first period to start off the game, and then again to make it 2-0. In the third period, the Panthers scored again, now 3-0. Just when I was losing hope, the Oilers managed to score twice, but the Panthers sealed the win 5-2. The last goal was an easy empty-netter from the Panthers, so it was a little disappointing the Oilers couldn’t bring the energy back from the last game. The Florida Panthers take a one-game lead in the series but that doesn’t mean the Oilers don’t have a chance. There will be another game tomorrow at 7 p.m. our time!
