The Terry Fox Ride of Hope rolled into Kenora on Friday night. A strong headwind slowed the riders’ arrival by about an hour but an enthusiastic crowd greeted Terry’s brother Darrell, Kenora’s Joel Stoliker and the other six riders.
The team left the west coast on a 7,000 kilometre journey that is scheduled to end on July 10th in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
Darrell Fox told the crowd this next leg of the journey to Thunder Bay will be very emotional for him, even 45 years after his brother had to give up his cross Canada run just outside the city.

Each of the riders is individually raising $45,000. Donations can be made online by visiting this website.
Fox says the team is on a tight schedule and will be in Ottawa for Canada Day. He called it “Terry Fox hard” as they bike 220 km every day with no days off.
