Eva May Fucile (nee Stock)
Dec. 5, 1927-Jul. 8, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that the families of Eva announce her passing at Wiigwas Elder and Senior Care in her room overlooking Lake of the Woods.
Eva was born to her parents Sydney and Margaret (nee Mathias) Stock in Toronto, Ont. She was the younger sister to her brother Richard Donald (Don).
Eva was predeceased by her parents, by her brother and his wife Joy; by her first husband Carl Pochailo and their infant daughter Diane; by her second husband John Fucile and by her niece Barbara Stewart.
Mom is survived by her children Patricia Pochailo (David Livicker), Alan (April) Pochailo and David (Gail) Pochailo.
Grandma is survived by her grandchildren Sarah, Bryan, Adam, Aaron, Alena, Keri, Christiana, and Nikki. Great Grandma is survived by her great grandchildren Caleb, Taia, Ayla, Finley and Ruby.
Eva is also survived by relatives William (Bill) & Diane Pochailo, Eric Stock, Michael Isted and all their families.
Eva hung her hat in many places throughout her life; from Toronto to Kenora, to Atikokan, to Hearst, to Thunder Bay and during winter months in Florida. She was a lifeguard, a seamstress, a crafter excelling in knitting and needlepoint, a curler, a golfer, a Bridge Master, and a wicked card player most times besting her grandkids at camp on Eva Lake (how great is that to have a camp on a lake with her name).
The family would like to thank the following people – The Venerable Dr. Lee Domenick, Reverend Marion Jackson (your friendship meant a lot to Eva, Marion…thank you) from St. Alban’s Anglican Church; Cory and staff from Brown’s Funeral Home; and the staff and personnel at Wiigwas. Your care and compassion for Eva was noticed and greatly appreciated.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 14, 2025 at 1:00pm at St. Alban’s Cathedral, 312 Main St S, Kenora, Ontario with interment to follow at Lake of the Woods Cemetery, Kenora, Ontario.
