It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Sean Timothy Green, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, who passed away in July 15 2025.

Born on May 15, 1965 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, Ontario, Sean was the cherished son of the late James P. Green and Lilas Green. A spirited and adventurous soul from the beginning, Sean grew up exploring the wild beauty of Kenora, often finding himself in the kinds of harmless trouble only a true Kenora boy could. His love for the outdoors and for the water was lifelong. He spent countless hours on Lake of the Woods and the Winnipeg River, boating between Kenora and Minaki to visit family and friends, always with a map in hand and curiosity in his heart.

Sean began his career straight out of high school with Canadian Pacific Railway, where he worked with unwavering dedication as a Conductor for over three decades. He took great pride in his work and successfully retired in 2021. His colleagues and friends knew him not only for his strong work ethic but also for his warmth and generosity.

Sean had a big heart and was a man who lived by the values of loyalty and compassion. He never turned away a friend in need and always offered a warm meal or a place to rest. His home was a haven for many, and his quiet kindness touched countless lives.

Sean shared a loving marriage of 33 years with Theresa Chicago, and together they built a beautiful family. He will be dearly missed by his children Roxanne (Mark), Serena, Belinda (James), Giselle, Emerson, Sebastian, Sawyer, and Jason Chicago.

He is predeceased by his parents, James P. and Lilas Green, as well as his sisters Jaqueline P. Shield and Megan M. Speight.

Sean is survived by his siblings Maureen Calder (Bob) and nephews Scott P. Calder, Robert J. Calder, and great-niece Emma Cormier-Calder, James T. Green (Marcy Sawkins) and nephews Jamie Green, Jordan Green, and Jackie Green of Edmonton. Also mourning his passing are his brothers-in-law Grant Speight (with nephews Morgan Speight (Breanne) and Brandon Speight (Emily Kinkade-Speight)) and Greg Shield.

Sean was also an active lover of all animals, especially his beloved dogs Amigos, Buster, and Loki. They were constant companions and brought him endless joy, reflecting the same loyalty and warmth he showed to those around him.

A funeral service to celebrate Sean’s life will be held on Monday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Kenora.

Sean’s memory will forever be a beacon of love, loyalty, and adventure. He lived fully and gave freely — a legacy that will continue to inspire all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
