A summer storm could potentially bring some heavy wind, rain, and hail to the region.
On Thursday, Environment Canada issued severe thunderstorm watches for the following communities:
- Kenora
- Nestor Falls
- Dryden
- Vermilion Bay
- Fort Frances
- Emo
- Rainy River
- Red Lake
- Ear Falls
The storm is expected to move into northwestern Ontario Thursday evening, lasting overnight.
The forecaster says up to 60 millimetres of rain is possible in some areas, as well as ping pong sized hail, and wind gusts up to 100 kilometres per hour.
