By 2026, Foot Locker has planned to close 400 stores.
Shutting storefronts across North America, including underperforming mall locations, the sneaker seller said it wants to revamp and emerge with branding more relevant to younger shoppers.
Foot Locker plans to shut 400 stores by 2026 as it strives to become more relevant to younger shoppers by relaunching its retail brands, introducing “experimental” new store concepts and simplifying its operations by closing underperforming mall-based stores.
125 Champs Sports stores will also be closing up as they are not pulling their weight in sales for the parent brand.
Foot Locker’s new concept idea will include larger stores that offer more brands, “experimental” concepts and other ideas to lure in shoppers.
It’s unclear which locations will be closing in the coming years.
