Judith was born in Kenora on February 23rd, 1947, lived in Sioux Narrows till 1956, Slant Lake till 1962 and eventually made her way to Kenora, where she started her family. Her career started with insurance, however she found her favorite place to be at Lake of the Woods Ojibway Cultural Center as the Executive Director. She spent many years doing something she loved, and begrudgingly retired at a beautiful age of 72.
Judith was a big part of our community with her many years of service with the Kenora Legion, Ladies Auxiliary Branch #12, the local Navy League Cadets and Army Cadets. She loved to sew, including leather jackets and anything that sparkled. Also scuba diving, repelling off cliffs, working the ham radio at the KBI Fishing tournament. And cooking for everyone, and Bannock was her specialty.
Family was everything to Judith. With her passing, we will do everything to keep her family strong.
A funeral service will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre in Kenora, ON, on Friday April 19th, 2024 at 3:00pm. A burial to follow at Lake of the Woods Cemetery at a later undetermined date.
