Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.

In Loving Memory, we announce the peaceful passing of Karrie Rae Kozak on May 26, 2024, with her loving family at her side. Karrie was the epitome of kindness, compassion, and optimism. Her loss leaves a profound void in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.

Karrie’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to spreading love and joy to those around her, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her gentle spirit and radiant smile could brighten the darkest days, and her acts of kindness were limitless. Whether it was a warm embrace, a listening ear, or a word of encouragement, Karrie had an innate ability to uplift others and make them feel valued and cherished.

Karrie’s impact extended far beyond her immediate circle; she touched the lives of countless individuals with her genuine warmth and generosity. Her legacy of compassion and positivity will continue to inspire and guide us in the days ahead.

Though we mourn her passing, we take solace in the beautiful memories we shared with Karrie. Her laughter will echo in our hearts, her love will be a guiding light in those moments of need, and her legacy of kindness will endure for generations to come.

Karrie is survived by her loving parents, Tom and Judy, her brother, Brian (Anna), her partner Dave Burt, her nieces, Brianna (Ryan) and Mia, her stepchildren, Ashley, Riley, Dawson, Isabella, Nathan, and Callum, step granddaughter Delilah, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as close family and friends, who will forever hold dear her memory.

Our family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Karrie’s doctors in Kenora and Thunder Bay, the Chemo Department, Char and the Palliative Care Team along with the 3rd floor nurses for their compassion, dedication, professionalism, and kindness. And a special thank you to Larry, Sylvia, Katy, and Hailey for their friendship, kindness, and generosity along with the Home Hardware family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kenora Cat Shelter, Dragon Tamers, or the Keewatin Curling Club in honour of her compassionate spirit.

A celebration of Karrie’s life will be held on Monday, June 10th, 2024 at 11:00am at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church in Keewatin, followed by a luncheon, where friends and family will gather to remember and honour her beautiful soul.
