Varying forest fire hazard levels for northwestern Ontario

It’s probably best to leave your next outdoor fire for later.

The wildland fire hazard ranges from low to extreme across the northwest region.

Thunder Bay and most of Fort Frances’ are listed as moderate while Kenora and Dryden are listed as high. To the far north, extreme fire hazard levels are listed starting around Wabakimi and Pickle Lake.

A new wildland fire was also reported 28.3km northwest of Fort Hope.

Nipigon 7 is 20 hectares in size and is currently not under control.
