The long weekend will be capped off with Canada Day festivities on Monday.

Morgan Seller is Kenora’s Special Events coordinator and says most of the events will take place on the Harbourfront.

“Under the tent you’re going to see the specialty market,” says Seller.

“What’s great about that is there some vendors you wouldn’t see at the regular market.  Then out at the south parking lot we going to see inflatables, interactive stations.  We have some live musical performances as well as entertainment.”

Seller says those activities will run from 10 until 3 Monday.

“There’ll be cake and of course at the end of the day, there will be the 10:45 fireworks over Safety Bay.”

The Mather-Wall House will also be holding it’s strawberry tea on July 1st from 2 until 4 pm.

Kenora Fire and Emergency Services encourages residents to attend the fireworks display on the Harbourfront instead of informal family or neighbourhood displays.

To minimize the risk of fire and burn injuries on Canada Day.
