We sadly announce the passing of Christopher Steven Kejick and has begun his journey to the Spiritual World.
Christopher is survived by his father Chris Kejick and mother Elizabeth Redsky, daughters Jaiden Harmony and Cailey Joe Kejick, granddaughter Harmony Bouchie and baby mama Jamie Kakegamic.
His little brother Adam Kejick and sisters Shannon Marie Skead, Nicole Kejick, Aliiyah and Gia Redsky and nieces Tessa and Morgan Kejick, Alison Mcleod-Redsky and Alexis Powderhorn, nephew Myles Skead and cousins, as well as many relatives too numerous to mention.
He is predeceased by his sister Melissa Jayne Kejick and brother Gregory Alexander Skead, his Shoomis Stephen Kejick and Kookum Alice Elizabeth Kejick and Brenda Redsky and grandmother Finola Fogarty and uncle Earl Kejick.
Christopher Kejick attended David Kejick School and Graduated from Tech Vocational School in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Christopher excelled in baseball, basketball, football and volleyball but his main game was basketball. He advanced to the Indigenous Games for Ontario’s Boys Basketball Team. He loved Basketball so much. His dream of pursuing basketball professionally was shattered when during practice at the Games in Orillia, Ontario. He tore his ACL. His knee injury impeded any advancement to his dream and struggled to focus on employment and training opportunities, but that didn’t stop him from working very hard, rain or shine for his daughters and baby mamma.
Christopher loves his daughters to infinity; he called them chickens and his sisters poos. He was the only positive male influence they had and always had their backs.
When he wasn’t working you could find him playing basketball, although with his injured ACL, it wouldn’t prevent him from enjoying the game. He would also play his sports Pro Line tickets which was making him some dough, as he calls it. Christopher was appointed to Youth Councillor for Chiefs of Ontario and had strong voice for the youth of Treaty Three Territory.
Christopher became a family man early in life and worked very hard for his chickens.
We would like to thank Iskatewizaagegan #39 First Nation and Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre for assisting in this difficult time and to the numerous individuals who stepped up in helping him make his journey. Chi Miigwech.
