New alcohol licences issued to several northwestern Ontario stores

Beer and wine sales will be allowed in 30 convenience stores across northwestern Ontario.

They are among the nearly 2,00o licences approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

Most are in Thunder Bay.

Others are located in Kenora, Ignace, Dryden and Atikokan.

The province announced this week that sales would begin Thursday, two weeks earlier than previously announced.
