Update: Team Canada wins 3 medals day 9 at Paris Paralympics

Team Canada made three trips to the podium on  Day 9 at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. Our athletes picked up two gold medals and one silver Friday.

In his Paralympic Games debut, Jesse Zesseu won a silver medal Friday morning in the men’s discus F37 final. Sebastian Massabie came first in the para swimming 50m freestyle S4. In para athletics, Cody Fournie got the gold in the men’s T51 100m.

Canada also won three medals on the previous day, including two gold. In swimming, Aurelie Rivard won a gold medal in the women’s 400m freestyle S10 and Tess Routliffe won bronze in the Women’s 100m breaststroke SB7 on Day 8. Para athlete Brent Lakatos raced to first in the men’s T53 800m.

As of the end of Day 9, Canada had a total of  23 medals: eight gold, seven silver and eight bronze.
