July 13, 1971 – September 13, 2024

Clifford was called upon by the creator on September 13, 2024 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by his family members.

He is survived by his loving partner Shannan Martin, his sister Darlene Paypompee, his brothers, Darrell Paypompee and Jason Roundhead and his adoptive parents, Gordon and Norma Dogger, his adoptive brother Forrest Dogger (Gail). Also, his aunties Glenda Cowley, Melvina C, Sherriann C, Leona C, Nancy C, and his uncle Lorne C. Also, his nieces who he admired with pride, Katelynn Paypompee and Tanya Cowley, will miss his witty and loving presences; his brother-figure Dale Cowley; Clifford dearly loved all his nephews, nieces, and many, many, many cousins.

Predeceased biological parents, father Clifford Cowley and mother Victoria Roundhead, his grand parents Pete and Sally Cowley on his father side, and on mother’s side, Bengamin Roundhead and Mary Indian; his father-like figure uncle Gary Cowley and aunt Annabelle.

Clifford loved and enjoyed cooking (his mom suggested that he go into cooking school), enjoyed various music, growing up he played the piano, he adored his three pet cats, he was independent and enjoyed exploring the wonders of mother nature and the surrounding lakes from home. Clifford’s life can best be captured as a person who loved to laugh, tell jokes, caring for others and puts other people first when it comes to taking care of someone.

Norma recalls that over the years all of the family pets – dogs, cats and horses dearly loved Clifford, too.
The family would like to thank Dr. Hadded and the ICU unit nurses of Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre for taking good care of Clifford. Also, the help of the Indigenous Health Services for contacting Elder Ernie and Charlotte Kwandebins to have a traditional prayer.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 1:00pm at Peshigoneb Cultural Centre, Whitefish Bay, Ontario. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 10:00am at Peshigoneb Cultural Centre with burial to follow.
