Forest Fire being fought - Supplied Photo
There is one new forest fire in the region.
Dryden Fire 17 is burning just north of Pipio Lake.
The point-1 hectare fire is the only fire not under control in the region.
There are 10 other fires currently burning, three are under control and seven are being observed.
The fire hazard is mainly moderate to high across the region with patches of low hazard across the central Sioux Lookout and Greenstone Fire Management Sectors.
There are also some pockets of extreme hazard south of Lake Nipigon and west of Quetico Provincial Park.
