It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gerard Van Walleghem on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
He is survived by his children, Tonya Van Walleghem (Vincent), Jonathan Van Walleghem (Donna-Lee), TJ Van Walleghem (Brie), Shawn O’Flaherty (Kim); siblings, Bernie Arbez (Claude), Judy Minor (Al), and Chris Van Walleghem (Jane); grandchildren Santo, Natasha, Chad, Micheala, Ryan and Alexis and numerous nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind lots of friends as he made friends wherever he went.
He drove semi for many years and was proud of receiving an award for 1 million accident-free miles.
There will be no service, with a private interment at a later date.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brad Kyle and staff at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
