It is with great sadness that the family of Suzanne Marie McCool (ne Fontaine) announces her passing on November 29, 2024 in Kenora with her family by her side.

Suzanne was born May 15, 1954 in Campbellton, NB. The family moved and settled in Kenora when she was very young. Suzanne met Terry in 1981 and married in 1983. She was a stay at home Mom who loved cooking, crafts, painting, sewing and knitting. After graduating from and Esthetician Course, she opened the make-up studio which she ran in her home. Suzanne loved the outdoors whether it was in the garden or attending her flowers or on the lake or river fishing and camping.

Ten years ago she received the devastating news that she had terminal cancer and they could give her up to two years with treatment. After thinking about it she said this is in God’s hands and said no to the treatments and moved into her fifth wheel and started to live her dream, travelling around Canada in the summer and down to the Southern US in the winter. During these travels she had met some wonderful friends, especially the Snowbirds from Osoyoo’s. Suzanne was happiest around family, Christmas being her favorite holiday, she would put on a feast and would have all the kids, grand kids, her family and the in-laws over.

Suzanne’s favorite saying was:
Merry we meet
Merry we part
Merry we meet again.

Suzanne is survived by her husband Terry McCool, her children Tharone Fontaine (Michelle), Wyntar Fontaine, Donna Edwards (Pete), Gordie McCool (Amanda), Terry McCool (Heidi) and Wade McCool, grandchildren Bryceton, Amberlynn, Brendyn, Jaden, Zoe, Lola, Carter, Cohen, Alice, Elsa, her great grandchild Teagan, her mother Antoinette Fontaine, her sisters Dar (Steve-deceased), Linda (Jerry) and Jackie (Brian) As well as her in-laws Marion, Lorne (Teresa), Myron (Judy), Shelley (Dave) and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Suzanne was predeceased by her father Edmond Fontaine, brother Romeo and father-in-law Alexander.

We would like to thank the staff on 2nd East for their care and compassion and Mike and Charlene for their help through this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 11:00am – 1:00 pm at the Central Community Club, Kenora, Ontario.
