It is with profound sadness we share that on December 11, 2024, Keewatin lost a son, a brother and a best friend, Ronald Stewart Brintnell at the age of 53, he passed away peacefully at home. Rocket to many, fought a hard and brave battle the past two years and did everything he could to stay with us.
Ronald will be greatly missed by his mother Verna, sister Trudy (Albert) of Hensall, ON and brother Terry (Tammy) of Keewatin, ON along with many nieces and nephews from Keewatin to the Bluewater area in ON. He was preceded in death by his father Murray, brother David and earlier this year lost his brother Rick.
Ron was born in Kenora and raised in Keewatin. We could always find Ron on a Friday night at the Lakeshore and always on the dance floor. Ron loved spending his time on the waters of Lake of the Woods fishing for the big one or just floating in his boat in his favourite bay. Ron took great pride in being one of the best small motor mechanics, and nothing meant more to him then his Woodlake family of 22 years. Rocket was always the first to lend a hand and he will always be remembered for his contagious laugh.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Del Paggio and the caring staff at the Tamarack house in Thunder Bay. The Lake of the Woods District Hospital, a special thank you to the nurses in cancer care as well as the third-floor nurses.
As per Ron’s wishes there will be no service, cremation has taken place in the compassionate hands of Brown Funeral Home.
