U.S. President Donald Trump says he plans to put 25 per cent tariffs on any steel and aluminum entering the country.
He made the latest comments in his tariff saga on board Air Force One while on the way to New Orleans, where he planned to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday.
He says that announcement will come tomorrow and will affect both Canada and Mexico, as well as other countries.
Trump previously promised to put 25 per cent tariffs on most Canadian imports to the states, but earlier this month he paused the move for 30 days.
While speaking to reporters on Sunday, he also said he would hit countries with reciprocal tariffs, meaning if other countries are charging tariffs on U.S. imports, then Trump would charge for those countries to send goods to the U.S.
