Ontario’s four main political party leaders engage in a heated debate ahead of the provincial election on February 27.
The debate, held on Family Day in Toronto, features Doug Ford (Progressive Conservative), Marit Stiles (NDP), Bonnie Crombie (Liberal), and Mike Schreiner (Green Party).
Healthcare was a major topic, with passionate exchanges among the leaders. Bonnie Crombie emphasizes the need for healthcare improvements, advocating for more access to family doctors.
Doug Ford focuses on protecting jobs and expanding the economy, while Marit Stiles criticizes the government’s past performance and promises to hire more doctors.
Mike Schreiner highlights community investments and criticizes wasteful spending.
The leaders also discuss the impact of President Trump’s tariffs on Ontario.
“If these tariffs go through, they’ll devastate the economy. But I can promise you, we will get through it together,” Ford said.
“As we face this big threat from Donald Trump, my promise to you is this: we’re going to fight the rising cost and protect every job,” Stiles said.
“Leadership is about vision, priorities, and integrity. We need a leader who will not only protect jobs but also get you a family doctor,” Crombie said.
“We need to come together to show strength through unity to push back against these tariff threats,” Schreiner said.
Community investments were another key discussion topic, with leaders debating how best to support local communities and improve the overall quality of life for Ontarians.
As the election approaches, Ontario voters will soon decide which leader is best equipped to address these pressing issues and guide the province forward.
