Kenora and District Chamber hands out honours during business awards

Against the backdrop of the Canada/US hockey final in the 4 Nations Cup, the Kenora and District Chamber of Commerce handed out 12 awards in its annual business awards ceremony.

There was a total of 110 nominations this year.

The judges, who were anonymous, came from Fort Frances, Dryden and Kenora.

The awards ceremony and banquet were held at the Seven Generation Education Institute’s Event Center.

Here are the Winners:

Inclusive Employer:  Safeway

Youth Entrepreneur:  Keisha Symonds

Skilled Trades:  D&R Plumbing and Heating

Indigenous Business:  Cottage Time Public House

Tourism/Hospitality:  Lake of the Woods Brewing Company

New Business:  Guinto Leather

Innovative Small Business:  Lake of the Woods Sunrise Soap Company

Customer Service Excellence (Staff over 10):  Kenora Veterinary Clinic

Community Spirit:  Boardanyone

Entrepreneur/Owner/Manager of the Year:  Nicole Brown from FSET
