Lori Lee Smith (nee: Bull)
September 10, 1959 – February 20, 2025
It is with true sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lori. She will be forever remembered by her loving husband Ross of 40 years, her children Jeffrey (Ashley) and Travis.
She will also be remembered by her sister Carolyn, her mother-in-law Thelma, her brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by her father Vern, her Mother Hazel, her Father-in-law Victor and her brother-in-law Alfred.
Lori attended various primary schools in Kenora and graduated from Beaver Brae High School. She continued her education at Carlton University and Confederation College.
Lori’s greatest joy was her family. She dedicated herself to the nurturing and the education of her children. She loved children and this led her to becoming a Teachers Aid and an Education Assistant with the Kenora Catholic District School Board for many years.
Lori enjoyed walks around town, picnics on the lake and preparing meals especially on family occasions. She loved to laugh and always tried to see the best in everyone.
Lori’s spirit lives in the hearts of those who loved her, and she will never be forgotten.
“Grief is the last act of love we have to give those that we loved. Where there is deep grief, there was great love.”
We would like to thank the nursing staff at the Kenora Hospital for their care and compassion during Lori’s final days. We would also like to thank the staff at Wiigwas (Birchwood) for the care they provided Lori over the past few years, especially the third-floor staff who were the hands-on people and did an exceptional job. Thank you.
There will be a family memorial held at a later date.
