It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, aunty, sister, daughter, Mary Annette Letander nee Henry.

She is also survived by her brothers Anthony Henry (Valerie), and Frank Henry, daughter Christina Mandamin, and special nieces and nephews Caroline, Dorothy, Edith Henry. Pauline, Donna, William, Patrick Henry. Dean, Heather, Grace, Sylvia, and Nicole Henry.

Mary was a caring and amazing woman; people knew her as Chi-equay. She went out of her way to help family and friends. She would spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When her grandchildren were around for visits, she would always tell them stories of her days in One Man Lake and Whitedog. Spoke about her working days as a cook in various places; people loved her cooking. When it came to someone’s birthday, she would call them up, wish them a happy birthday, ask what they wanted, or she would already have a gift for them. She never forgot a birthday. She had such a crazy sense of humour; it was never a dull moment with her around. If you needed to talk, she would be there to listen. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend. Mary will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

A wake service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 1:00pm at Whitedog Community Hall, Whitedog, Ontario. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 11:00am, Whitedog, Ontario, with interment to follow at Lake of the Woods Cemetery, Kenora, Ontario.
