It always fills you up with warmth when a community comes together for a good cause, even if it’s as simple as saving an animals life,

Odin, a stray cat, is being considered a warrior.

According to the Timmins and District Humane Society, he was likely hit by a vehicle recently, and left with devastating injuries.

Their vet team initially did everything they could to make him comfortable, but unfortunately one of his eyes has had to be removed.
After that it was looking very likely that this cat was going to need to be euthanize.

But Odin had won over the staff at that point, so they decided to take a chance and ask for the public’s help in maybe giving him a second chance.

The human society says that community support was tremendous – almost $9,000 poured in to help Odin receive the immediate surgeries he needed at a clinic in Ottawa.

Residents have even sent in “gifts” for Odin as well.

The staff in Timmins have dubbed these people “Odin’s Army”

Odin is out of surgery and settling in at a temporary foster home in Ottawa.
He is expected to return to Timmins in a few three weeks.
Where, officials said he’ll still require follow-up care and then a search for his forever home will begin.
