Conservative Incumbent Eric Melillo wins Kenora-Kiiwetinoong riding

Conservative Eric Melillo has been re-elected for the third time in the 45th general federal election.

The Kenora native is back as the Member of Parliament for the Kenora-Kiiwetinoong riding.

Mellilo has spent his life in the region, attending Beaver Brae Secondary School before studying economics at Lakehead University.

He has served as the Conservative Party’s Shadow Minister for Northern Affairs and FedNor, as well as Deputy Shadow Minister for Diversity, Inclusion, and Youth.

Kenora-Kiiwetinoong Results:

Conservatives – Eric Melillo (incumbent): 49.7 per cent (11,568 votes)

Liberals – Charles Fox: 34.7 per cent (8,075 votes)

NDP – Tania Cameron: 13.3 per cent (3,083)

Green Party – Jon Hobbs: One per cent (243 votes)

People’s Party – Bryce Desjarlais: 0.8 per cent (186)

Independent – Kelvin Boucher-Chicago: 0.5 per cent (109 votes)

Elsewhere in the region, incumbents Marcus Powlowski and Patty Hadju, both from the liberal party have been re-elected in the ridings of Thunder Bay-Rainy River and Thunder Bay-Superior North, respectively.
