It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden death of Dennis Halverson (Wauzhushk Onigum Nation). Born in Kenora and passed away at his home.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Skead, his sons, Danny Skeid (Raven) Sammy Skeid (Elaine), Ed Skeid (Candi), Dennis Skeid (Sami), Terou (Ana), Billy and Roxanne. Brothers, Gordie Halverson (Brenda), J.R. Halverson (Lillian) and his sister Irene. His grandchildren, Ronan, Shaye, Colin, Darius, Damien, Serinity, Samara, Fabian, Sammy Jr. Felicity, Marvin, Barry, Elycia, Parker, Theron, Kiara, Julia, Kamryn, Isiaih, Adam, Terou Jr., Sue Haven, Raiden. Many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly but too many to mention, his in- Laws, Linda, Kenny, Irene, Stella and Karen, friends, Gavin Skead, Myron Skead, Donny Fairfield, Chris Swain and too many more he loved as his brothers.

Dennis was predeceased by his son, David Skeid and his mother (Marie Skeid) and his siblings, Mary Jane, Elsie, Edward, Johnny, Billy, Irene and his parents (Albert Halverson and Eliza (Ashin), his paternal grandparents (Halver Halverson, Mary Jane Cook), his maternal grandparents (George Ashin, Mary Catlake (kaka).

Dennis was known for his love of the water and spent many years commercial fishing. Dennis was also known as the go-to guy for any mechanical problems from motor vehicles to small engines. He never turned his back on anyone in need and was there for anyone who needed a helping hand. Dennis will be missed by so many people as he was a humble man, caring and considerate and kind. He laughed often and enjoyed sitting around with his family and friends sharing stories and food. A loving husband, dad, brother, shoomis, uncle and friend were some of his qualities.

Dennis will be forever missed as he touched the hearts of so many people, and his love will never be forgotten.

Pallbearers will be Damien, Darius, Fabian, Ronan, Parker and Theron.

A wake service will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Pow Wow Island with services at 10:00 am on Monday, May 19, 2025 with his final resting place at Bald Indian Bay, Wauzhushk Onigum.
