Many a family story can be shared and he is fondly referred to as our brother and Big Jay’s best friend.
Tina was a loyal and valuable employee as nightly security of Devil’s Gap Marina for years. Loyal, dependable, reliable in her role and shared many fb posts about the pets she made, her visits with foxy and the bears. She took amazing pictures of the sunsets and sunrises and truly appreciated her coworkers who she spoke of fondly. Miigwetch, Jolin. She loved taking evening rides and no matter where her and Einer drove, it was always an adventure. She found many a treasure at “Tiffany’s” and refurbished many an item for her home. Tiffany’s is our local dump and she would be amazed at her findings. She adorned her home with pictures of family and special moments. She had a blanket made with pictures of her children and it was one of her favorites. Her love of fishing brought her out to many an evening of boat riding. Her small boat was often seen filled with her granddaughters. No room for Einer! 😊 Thank you, Candi/Fast, for gifting her the boat trailer. She was happiest on the water, I’m sure. Next to planning her Christmas and other celebrations with her family. She would get very involved in the DGM staff celebrations too. Often winning a crazy award like ugliest sweater contest, taking part in the adult/crazy games and sharing in the great times. She would take her small boat out in the staff fish derby and out fished most in their 150 hp top of the line skiffs. Her face lit up when she shared her stories. My sister was a true fan of her family at all sports events. Mostly baseball where everyone called her #1 razzin fan, She can be heard for miles cheering on her favorite players. Her nephew, Jordi, and was always amazed at his speed. She took part in the Elders category of our annual winter carnival. Placing is events and winning prizes in the Weed Store contest. We took the championship in the ladies 50+ canoe races of our treaty day celebrations. I told her, just guide us straight and true and we’ll finish strong. She was one of the best defensive hockey players in our younger years. Not to mention her broomball playing years. You did not want to be around her goalie if she and Kristin were on the ice. Many championships to boast about. She became a very artistic and avid landscape creator of her yard. She loved creating an array of flowers and ornaments. If there was a prize, she would be #1. She is #1 in our hearts. She is the true example of bravery and courage. Her decisions in the final days of her life on this earth are a true testament of her strength, courage, caring and love. I walked the last mile with my sister. I witnessed her bravery and courage. Especially, I heard her stories of love. She is the arms of our dear parents where she is safely protected and is finally at peace. Rest well, li’l sis of ours.
Total love and respect to Char of the Palliative Care team who exceeded her role to guide us and lead her home. The staff at LWDH were very courteous and displays of empathy were extremely heartwarming in a difficult time. Miigwetch!
