The provincial government is helping more victims and survivors of sexual assault access free legal advice.
It is committing $750,000 toward the Independent Legal Advice Program.
The program offers 4 hours of free advice and access to additional support services.
“We’re helping to ensure that victims and survivors have the information they need to make informed decisions about their legal options,” states Associate Attorney General Michael Tibollo in a release.
The program is managed by a Toronto-area legal clinic but is available to anyone 16 and older anywhere in the province.
More than 500 people took advantage of the service over the last 12 months.
