The City of Dryden is looking to expand housing availability.
The city plans to expand sewer and water services along South Van Horne Avenue and Claybanks Road.
Madhav Raithatha is the city’s Project and Asset manager and says in all, it’s a four-million-dollar project.
“The project scope is new a new water main, sanitary and storm sewer installations, and associated road reconstruction on South Van Horne Avenue and Claybanks Road,” Raithatha told Dryden city council recently.
He adds the city was successful under the second intake under the Housing Enabling Water Systems Fund, and the province will provide $3 million towards the project, with the city kicking another $1 million.
“Our application was approved based on the number of housing units. So, the number of housing units we’ve proposed is 504 housing units.”
Raithatha says they have to have the project complete by March 31st, 2028, to be eligible for the funding.
